Volunteer with Voter Services
Help Make Democracy Work!
Join us to get involved in our work to engage with elected officials, empower new voters and to learn about issues that impact your community.
Volunteers make everything we do possible. It's our volunteers who organize our programs, forums, speakers, as well as manage our election activities and register voters.
Voter Services Chairs Jeannie Lythcott and Kathy Miller want to help you mobilize your membership!
The Voter Services team aims to fulfill the League’s mission of strengthening democracy through voter registration, voter education, and voter mobilization.
For the 2020 election cycle, we are hitting the ground running!
We welcome all League members to learn about our activities and find a volunteer opportunity that fits their interest.
Contact Jeannie or Kathy if you’re interested in being involved in one of these teams and its mission:
Youth Vote Team
Mission: To register, educate, and motivate 100% of eligible Palo Alto teens to become lifelong voters. Our volunteers visit school classrooms to do all three.
Voter Education Resource Team
Produce Pros & Cons, candidates’ forums, Voter’s Guide, Voter’s Edge; develop new voter education concepts such as active policy reflection; and explain the Voters Choice Act to the public. Serve as resource for Youth Vote and DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) Projects.
Voter Registrar Liaison Team
Stay up-to-date on voter registration and voter issues and serve as a resource for educating volunteers who are part of other teams/projects. Liaise with the registrar over key registration and voting issues.
Beyond Palo Alto Team
Mission: To explore and pursue ways in which the Voter Services Team of the League of Women Voters of Palo Alto can strengthen democracy beyond our own borders.
Executive Committee: Oversee all Voter Services (VS) activities and report to LWVPA Board.
